I am a mom to 4
ages 12 to 21.
No, I am not old enough to
have a 21 yr old.
I started running 2 yrs ago this month,
weighing in at
163 lbs.
I have since lost
15 lbs and 22 inches overall
20 pounds.
Why did I start?
The Principal (my husband) had suggested
we run Bloomsday.
Sure I said
let’s do it.
My first 5K training was
on the treadmill.
It took me 58 minutes.
I felt like I had won a marathon!
I continued to train for that 12K
and decided to try a 5K
Race for the Cure
in honor of
I then did Bloomsday
and a few more 5K’s.
Even 2 half marathons.
Every time I got out there
I did it for Jamie thinking
she would probably
really LOVE to be running.
Jamie lost her battle
October 4th, 2010.
The day after my 2nd half marathon
in September
my mom died.
I haven’t run since.
Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
I will run again.
For my emotional
and
my physical well being.
My goal this year is to run at least another half marathon.
In October? Spokane Marathon.
Life happens. Mental breaks are needed.
You have to take care of yourself.
Don’t give up on exercising.
Your body and mind will thank you!
