What’s your problem?

Some days just don’t end.  I mean, the package you were expecting doesn’t come in the mail, all three kids have snotty noses, it’s raining, and you’re out of milk.  Some people may call these first world problems, others may simply call it life.

It was one of those days and I couldn’t take it any more.  I couldn’t even produce the tears for an ugly cry–I was just dried up.

“What’s your problem?”

I said to the girl in the mirror (with the voice of a 12-year-old brat).  However, once the words left my mouth, I immediately regretted it!  Why do I speak so harshly to myself?  That tone was not useful nor helpful.

But instead, I felt the hands of Jesus cup my face….”what…is…your…problem?” asked in a still small voice eager to hear my answer.

“I just want to get well”

Isn’t that really just the root of all of our issues?

“Tell me more,” whispers that still small voice.  It was my very own come to Jesus moment.  Broken and raw I tried to figure out what it was that this problem stemmed from, and amounted to.

I’m 50 ok, 60 pounds overweight.  My clothes don’t fit.  My house is a mess.  I don’t know what day of the week it is.  I’m dog tired.

Tell me I’m not the only one……

As I’m listing all my problems I get confused and worked up.

“Shh my child,” still that small voice.

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.   Exodus 14:14

“But how can this be?” I question and stammer.  “I have so much to do!”

And at that moment, I believe He saw my heart.  He knew my desires, for many of those desires are His for my life.  And He reminded me He will fight for me.

I know it’s not always this easy, friend…but I want to ask you….what’s your problem?  And I pray you hear it from my heart in a small loving voice from a friend rather than the 12-year-old previous bratty version of myself.

We want MLG to be a community for women to lift one another up.  So tell us. Feel free to share in the comments what your problems are.  We want to help.  Or if you don’t want to comment here, come join us at our Facebook Page.  Let’s chat.  Let’s confess what our problems are, and  let’s work through them.  Let’s let them out and see exactly how amazing God is as He fights for us!!!  We want to be real; we know that the Lord has so much in store for this ministry; we just need to work together.  As we find out what “our problems” are, then we’ll take some time to be still and see what He wants us to do.

Will you join us?

Because we think He has some big things in store for us!!!
