Rejection HURTS! 

I think every eye who reads these words would agree… it is painful.  It is the “everyone is invited to the party except YOU” kind of feeling.  Rejection leaves you taking stock of yourself, and it pierces your heart and snaps it in two! 

Rejection can do a number of things to your head, like thinking you are not good enough… not a good enough wife, not a good enough mother, not a good enough friend!  And oh, we don’t even want to talk about the flood of tears that comes with this rejection. 

There are all sorts of rejection… doesn’t matter what type it is, because the tears still fall, and your heart still breaks. 

But let me tell you sister, there is awesome news here… CHRIST’S LOVE FOR YOU means just that…HE LOVES YOU WHEN NO ONE ELSE WILL, and the rejection CANNOT DEFINE YOU!  And most of all, the rejection will NOT DEFEAT YOU!  CHRIST already walked this walk for you.  HE knows and sees all of your tears because HE has been there.

I am a daughter of a KING!  I have already been invited to the best party the world is ever going to see!  My name is written in HIS glorious BOOK of all time, and I will humbly sit one day at HIS heavenly table along with other rejects just like me.  PSALM 23:5 says: “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.” 

And oh what a celebration it will be!  

I envision CHRIST gently taking my hand, and slowly pulling out my jeweled chair, all the while looking at me with incredible eyes brimming with pure GRACE!  HE says to me, “we have been waiting for you.”  I look around and realize I am HIS guest of honor.  I am finally complete with HIS unconditional love for me…rejection is not even a word that exists in HIS HEAVEN!  Broken hearts and broken souls will finally and for certain, be made whole at HEAVEN’S table.

This world honors and esteems being first…this world honors fame too.  In Matthew 5, CHRIST said, ” Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.”  If I am seeking fame in any way here, if I seek anything other than HIM, I will not have the honor of sitting at that table with my LORD!

It is alright to be rejected here… it is alright to be second, and it is alright to not be noticed at all.  HE sees us in the midst of this suffering.  CHRIST died for me and you.  The realization that HE was hung on a tree so that I could join HIM someday at HIS table, has left me with tears of joy instead of tears of pain!

Isn’t it wonderful to think that HEAVEN’S table is full of grace, and mercy, and love all wrapped up into one eternal celebration? 

As I continue to walk this earthly path set before me, I realize that I can be ridiculed, rejected, and even forgotten… I can let others walk in the limelight.  I don’t need it.  And I don’t want it!  But this is HIS amazing plan for me… a plan that is leading me to that glorious table of LOVE and MERCY.  Yes, there is GLORY to be found in rejection, because in my tears… HE FINDS ME… HE FINDS ME SITTING WITH HIM, and many others… all giving glory to one another, and all giving honor to CHRIST THE KING!
