We’ve been here on Thursdays keeping each other accountable with ‘Count Me Accountable’ for awhile now.
In fact, it’s been long enough that we might be starting to slip back into old habits, or our efforts might be becoming a little less intentional. No judgement intended, I’m speaking strictly from my own heart here. In fact, a conversation with Meredith this morning via Skype had me realizing just how much I need to redefine my goals and be more intentional.
Meredith’s already put her goal, and her motivation, into words:
“I want to be well so that I can be used to the FULL potential that He has for me. I am tired of my health, or my fitness, getting in the way of what He has planned for me.
I am tired of making excuses for myself, and my terrible habits and behaviors — saying that I am God’s beloved, and that He loves me the way that I am…but the bottom line is that I have to love HIM enough to truly put Him first.”
Oh, beautiful, wise words there, huh? One of the most basic requirements of being accountable is to define your goal(s) and the motivation behind them.
So here are two big questions for you (and for me):
- In what ways, what areas, are you needing to be held accountable?
- What is your motivation behind those goals?
I encourage you to write down your answers, and post them somewhere that you will see them daily. Keep them fresh in your mind so that you can work toward achieving them.
We’d love to hear your answers!
You can leave your answers in the comments, or you can answer on your own blog and link up below. If you’ve already got a ‘Count Me Accountable’ post ready to link up, link that here too!

Here at Must Love God on Thursdays, we count each other accountable. Will you join us?
