Living Limitlessly

This process begins by escaping the boundaries in this would by finding the lasting freedom in Christ. The question is, how do pull away from the lies this world is telling us? I’m sure we’ve all heard of those sayings. The ones that tell us:

“You aren’t ever going to reach your dreams because…”

“Nothing is going to help you overcome your past…”

“Your (insert struggle here) will interfere in anything you set out to accomplish…”

“You will never be good enough to be used by God.”

“It all comes down to (worldly concept) not (spiritual concept), get your priorities in order!”

How many times has someone said these sorts of phrases to you? Or worse still, how often are the voices we hear these phrases our own? What happens to our drive, our mindset, our goals, our will-power when we buy into these?

The real task is to bounce these sorts of phrases off of the truth of who we are that we can find in the Word. Such truths as:

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.” (Eph 1:7)“When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” (Colossians 2:13-14)
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God ; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.” (John 3:1-2)

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature ; the old things passed away ; behold, new things have come.  Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

The real question is, how do we learn to live limitlessly beyond the boundaries that are placed on us. Either by ourselves or those around us? I believe it’s by taking these (and other) scriptures and applying them to our situation.

What Scriptures do you use to help yourself overcome the lies that the enemy spews at you on a day to day basis?
