How To Physically Reset and Be Free

Reset:

  • to set anew;
  • to decide upon or fix definitely;
  • to “fix the variables”;
  • to “specify the parameters”;
  • to adjust again after an initial failure…
  • to adjust again after an initial failure. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had many initial failures in my attempts at having a more healthy lifestyle (also known as many resolutions gone to the wayside).

If I were to speak the truth, “fixing the variables” and “specifying the parameters” of my physical life have been things I’ve known I “should do” and nothing more than that.

But this past year, the idea of setting anew my physical life took a much more personal, heartfelt, determined meaning… after meeting with some other moms of children with learning disabilities, I made a change to my family’s diet which has leveled out my oldest son’s sensory processing disorder, aided in his ever growing ability to read, eliminated my youngest son’s eczema and asthma-like croup, (and to my great surprise) removed a lifetime of chronic pain through fibromyalgia and tension headaches for me… it was a simple change that I decided upon, tried for a bit, then fixed definitely into the fabric of our daily eating lives.

By simply removing certain foods, and making note of reactions to other foods, my family is much healthier and happier. Because of this, I take almost every opportunity I get to tell others about the freedom from pain and ailments that we’ve experienced from this simple change.

It would be a true joy to know that our stories, and this physical reset at Must Love God, might help you find that same freedom!

Here’s a beautiful message one of my friends, who made the same physical reset, shared about this change in our jointly authored eBook, Be Free: A 14-Day Challenge of Food Discovery:

“The beautiful thing is, we have choices. We have freedom to choose how we spend our time, talents, and treasures. We have the freedom to choose what to eat. Some choices we make in life will bring us freedom. Some choices will bring us bondage.

There is the famous story in the Bible when the Israelites had been living as slaves for several hundred years when along comes Moses, a servant of God’s, ready to help set them free.

After their exodus from Egypt they began to grumble.“Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread. There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!” (Numbers 21:5) They were willing to go back to slavery!

There may be times when you will feel alone on this journey to food discovery. Just like the Israelites, you are not alone. The same God who created apples, pears, and plums, and beasts of the field and birds of the air, is the same God who created you. He knows you’re not perfect and you will need strength. He loves the creation of you so much he will provide your every need.

Paul wrote in the book of Romans, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) God knows we are slaves to that which binds us. It is a daily choice to choose freedom. Our Lord Jesus Christ stretched out his arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of his saving embrace.

Jeremiah said, “‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’declares the LORD, ‘and will bring you back from captivity.’” (Jeremiah 29:13-14)

Freedom to live with our creator forever: true freedom, and for that, thanks be to God!”

Michelle
